As John and I waited in line for my boarding pass I looked at him and asked, "John, are you happy"?
John looked down at the ground and said, "No, no I am not happy."
I asked him why and he said he didn't know. I asked him that while I was gone to think about why he was not happy and then when I got back to tell me about it.
When I got back to the Dominican after being a way for a week, John met me my first day back in the village. This was what he had to say,
He said that while I was gone he was talking to a lot of people about the fact that he was not happy. And this is what he learned from people in the village. "I need to learn to be happy today. Even if things in my life changed and my life became easier that still will not make me happy, because I will still want more. I need to learn to be happy today and not wait for tomorrow. If I do not learn to be happy today, I will not be happy tomorrow."
